Brahmastra: Activists stop Alia Bhatt and Ranbir Kapoor from entering Ujjain’s Temple over ‘beef’ Comment, Cops resort to Lathi charge

Brahmastra: After promoting their film in Hyderabad, Chennai and Mumbai, Alia Bhatt, Ranbir Kapoor along with Ayan Mukerji had taken a flight to Ujjain hoping to visit the famous Mahakaleshwar Temple. Before the release of their Film Brahmastra, the leads were all set to take blessings from the lord. However, the actors were stopped from entering the Temple by Members of right-wing groups Vishwa Hindu Parishad and Bajrang Dal over Ranbir Kapoor’s past comment on beef.

Alia Bhatt Announced her visit to Ujjain

Meanwhile, Actress Alia Bhatt announced on her official Instagram story that she along with Ranbir and Ayan would be visiting the Mahakal Temple to seek blessings and interact with some of the fans.

What went wrong?

Things went wrong when Bajrang Dal came to know about their visit and gathered outside the temple further attempting to stop them. Things also got a little out of hand when people got really aggressive, held black flags and started chanting slogans of ‘Jai Shri Ram’. This led to a Lathi charge by the police in order to disperse the organisation.

Ranbir Kapoor’s statement

An old clip of Ranbir Kapoor Went viral where he can be seen admitting that her is a ‘beef lover’. Meanwhile this did not go down well with a lot of the activists and could not take the derogatory comments against Gau Mata. And later, Bajrang Dal District President Ankit Chaubey went in to say that “Ranbir Kapoor gave some derogatory comments against Gau Mata.”
He further added, “We will intensify the protests and will not allow Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt to enter the Temple. Ranbir Kapoor said on camera that eating beef is good. Bajrang Dal will not allow a beefeater from entering the Temple.”

Brahmastra is all set to Release on September 9.
