Allu Arjun, the leading star of Pushpa 2: The Rule, has been arrested by the Hyderabad police following a tragic stampede at a special screening of the film. The heartbreaking incident resulted in the death of a female fan.
Police Question Allu Arjun in Connection with the Incident
ANI uploaded a video showing Hyderabad police taking Allu Arjun to the Chikkadpally police station for questioning. The tweet read, "Telangana: Actor Allu Arjun has been brought to Chikkadpally police station in Hyderabad for questioning in connection with the case of the death of a woman at Sandhya Theatre on December 4."
The tragic incident took place on December 4 at Sandhya Theatre inHyderabad, where a massive crowd had gathered for a special screening of Pushpa 2. Among the crowd was 39-year-old Revathi, who tragically lost her life due to suffocation. Her eight-year-old son was also injured and had to be hospitalised. The situation became chaotic as fans rushed to get closer to the star, leading to a stampede.
FIR Filed Against Allu Arjun, His Security, and Theatre Management
Following the incident, Revathi's family filed a complaint on December 5, prompting the police to register a case against Allu Arjun, his security team, and the theatre management. Media reports revealed that Deputy Commissioner of Police Akshansh Yadav confirmed that a First Information Report (FIR) was filed under charges of culpable homicide not amounting to murder and voluntarily causing hurt.
Yadav assured the public that a thorough investigation is underway. DCP stated that those responsible for the tragic incident would be held accountable, emphasising the importance of ensuring safety at public events.
