Born Naveen Kumar in 1986, Yash's passion for acting began in his early days, winning him accolades in theatre and dance competitions. Despite his desire to pursue acting after Class 10, he completed his schooling at his parents insistence.

At 16, with just Rs 300 in his pocket, Yash arrived in Bengaluru to chase his dreams. He joined a theatre group as a backstage worker, earning Rs 50 per day. His dedication and talent eventually led him to become a backup actor in the group.

Television Debut and Film Breakthrough

Yash's first brush with the screen came in 2004 with the TV serial Uttarayana. He later landed the lead role in the play Gokul Nilkamala, showcasing his acting prowess. While pursuing theatre, he completed his Bachelor of Arts degree.

In 2007, Yash made his film debut in a supporting role, followed by another supporting act in Moggina Manasu (2008). His first lead role came in the same year with Rocky, but it wasn't a box office success.

From Auto-rickshaw Driver to Leading Man

Yash bounced back in 2009 with Kallara Santhe, where he played an auto-rickshaw driver. He even drove an auto for a day as part of the film's promotions, showcasing his commitment to the role.

He went on to star in several hit films like Lucky, Jaanu, Google, and Mr. and Mrs. Ramachari, establishing himself as a leading man in the Kannada film industry.

KGF and Pan-India Stardom

The turning point in Yash's career came in 2018 with the massive success of KGF Chapter 1. The film grossed Rs 250 crore globally, propelling him to national recognition.

He further cemented his pan-India stardom with the sequel, KGF Chapter 2 (2022), which became the fourth highest-grossing Indian film of all time, earning a staggering Rs 1215 crore at the box office worldwide.

Future Projects and Net Worth

With the success of KGF, Yash's net worth is estimated to be around Rs 65 crore. He is reportedly set to make his Bollywood debut in Nitesh Tiwari's Ramayana, playing the role of Ravana, alongside Ranbir Kapoor and Sai Pallavi.
