Cannes Film Festival 2023: Woman pours fake blood on herself on red carpet to support Ukraine, Watch

Cannes Film Festival 2023: World’s biggest film fair Cannes Film Festival 2023 witnessed high drama recently. A woman dressed in the Ukrainian flag poured fake blood on herself on the red carpet. The incident took place during the premiere of Just Philippot’s film Acide.

The annual event showcases a wide range of international films. This year too it started with all the glamour as various celebrities from all around the world are attending the event. While the celebs often dazzle the red carpet in stunning looks, the event is also known for staging protests and demonstrations like no other.

Recently, a protestor dressed in the colours of the Ukrainian flag, blue and yellow, drew the attention of all with her protest. The model who posed for the camera in the unique outfit, poured fake blood on herself while showing off her support amid the protest.

The incident took place during the premiere of Just Philippot’s film Acide.

A viral video from the event showed the woman wearing a floor-length ball gown in blue and yellow, walking up the stairs and retrieving a capsule of fake blood. She raised it above her head, and burst it. All this while, she kept smiling for the cameras. Security staff swung into action immediately and removed her from the event.

Cannes stage often witnesses bizarre events. In a similar incident last year, a woman disrupted the red carpet premiere of George Miller’s Three Thousand Years of Longing. She stripped on the red carpet and started screaming until she had to be escorted off. She wore body paint in the colour of the Ukraine flag with the words ‘stop raping us’ written across her upper body.
