CBI Raids Sameer Wankhede Residence Involved in Aryan Khan Case

The CBI has registered a case against former Mumbai NCB regional director Sameer Wankhede and four others in a corruption case related to the Aryan Khan cruise case. Significantly, two years ago, Sameer Wankhede arrested actor Shahrukh Khan's son Aryan Khan in the alleged cruise drugs case.

At that time Sameer was an officer in the Mumbai Narcotics Control Bureau. Along with this, the Central Investigation Agency also raided his 29 locations in Mumbai, Delhi, Ranchi (Jharkhand) and Kanpur (Uttar Pradesh).

CBI officials have given information about this. He told that this FIR has been registered against him for allegedly demanding a bribe of Rs 25 crore. Aryan Khan was arrested on October 2, 2021 in an alleged drug bust case on the Cordelia cruise ship. In the FIR, the CBI has named Vishwa Vijay Singh, the then Superintendent, NCB, besides Sameer Wankhede; Ashish Ranjan, the then Intelligence Officer of the Mumbai Zonal Unit, NCB; Of. P. Gosavi and Sanvil D'Souza and other unknown persons have also been charged. It states that all these persons had entered into a criminal conspiracy with others to obtain undue advantage and also allegedly received undue advantage in the form of kickback from the accused.

The CBI officials also informed that searches were conducted at around 29 places in Mumbai, Delhi, Ranchi, Lucknow, Chennai and Guwahati in this regard today. Incriminating documents, articles and cash have been recovered during the search. He said that the investigation in the matter is going on.

It is alleged that IRS officer Wankhede and others had allegedly demanded Rs 25 crore for not implicating Aryan Khan in a drug case. Not only this, the CBI got information that the officer and his accomplice had allegedly taken Rs 50 lakh as advance.

The NCB had filed a charge sheet in the drugs-on-cruise case. He later gave a clean chit to Aryan Khan. At the same time, the report of an SIT constituted by NCB also claimed that there was a lapse in the investigation led by Sameer Wankhede.
