Chitrangda Singh Joins ‘Battle of Galwan,’ Director Apoorva Lakhia Promises On-Screen Magic with Salman Khan

After giving successful movies like Shootout At Lokhandwala and Mission Istanbul, director Apoorva Lakhia is all set to give another action-packed movie. After Salman Khan announced the name of the film with the blood-ridden poster on July 4, the director now revealed the name of the female lead.

The director finds actress Chitrangda Singh to be fit for his upcoming war movie' Battle of Galwan.' The patriotic war drama will show a filmy interpretation of the infamous India-China conflict of 2020 in the Galwan Valley.

Director Lakhia on the Casting Choice

After Salman Khan's declaration for the film Battle of Galwan last week, director Apoorva Lakhia has now revealed the female lead opposite him. It's none other than Chitrangda Singh. Sharing the update, celebrity photographer Viral Bhayani posted the news on Instagram, sparking buzz among fans. Lakhia expressed his excitement, saying, “Pairing Chitrangda’s grace with Salman Sir’s brooding energy creates magic.”

Along with the announcement, he also says that it was his long-term desire to work with the stunning actress since he watched her performance in Hazaaron Khwaishein Aisi and Bob Biswas. Complementing the versatility of the actress, he says, "Chitrangda brings a rare blend of strength and sensitivity to the screen." 

Updates On the 'Battle of Galwan' Movie

With this official announcement from the director, the film will soon start shooting this year. On July 4, Salman released the first motion poster of the movie. We can see him in an army dress with barbed wire and anger in his one eye. The shooting will take place in Ladakh and Mumbai. 

There has been a 70-day pre-planned shooting schedule, which can wrap around October this year if things go right. Then, the post-production works will be done, as the movie is aiming to be released on the Republic Day of 2026.   

What to Expect from the Film?

The 'Battle of Galwan movie will show the film adaptation of the Indo-China conflict in the Galwan Valley in June 2020. It will dramatise the arms-free battle between the soldiers of India and China, which has led to the death of 20 soldiers. 

Therefore, the movie is going to be fresh in the eyes of other war movies. Here, instead of guns and missiles, you will be witnessing the muscle power of the soldiers and, of course, Salman Khan.
