‘Oppenheimer’ box office collection in India: The Indian box office is abuzz by ‘Oppenheimer‘ directed by the acclaimed director Christopher Nolan. The movie has become the highest achieved box office collection record for a Hollywood movie this year. Despite of the tough competition and  challenges, ‘Oppenheimer‘ is making waves, both in India and on global stage with an unique and unusual genre. 

Oppenheimer leads box office in India

Early estimates indicate that ‘Oppenheimer‘ collected an impressive Rs 13 – 13.50 crores nett on its opening day in India. The film’s resounding success is attributed to strong showings in metros and major cities, as well as significant footfalls from theaters in smaller towns. Despite facing stiff competition from the likes of “Barbie” and “Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part 1,” both certified hits in India, “Oppenheimer” managed to captivate audiences and draw excellent advance bookings for not only weekdays but also the second weekend.

A global box office sensation

Oppenheimer‘ has not only triumphed in India but also witnessed a thunderous start worldwide. In North America, the film’s previews alone earned about $10.5 million with weekend total of over $75 million and weekend revenue of around $150 million, “Oppenheimer” has emerged as a resounding triumph for Universal Pictures.

About ‘Oppenheimer’

The movie ‘Oppenheimer’ which is set in the backdrop of World War II is a biographical film of physicist J. Robert Oppenheimer, who is also known as Father of Atomic Bombs. The drama depicts the history when J. Robert Oppenheimer went forward to test the atomic bomb, despite of knowing the fact that it may ignite the atmosphere worldwide. He was the person who helped inventing nuclear weapons during the World War II.
