Claims Of Deepika Padukone Being Removed From Kalki Sequel False? Fresh Reports Say Actress Herself Left Due To THIS Big Reason

Deepika Padukone’s exit from Kalki 2898 AD Sequel has sparked buzz, with fresh reports saying she left due to script changes, not demands.

The buzz around Kalki 2898 AD has shifted from box office numbers to casting drama for the sequel. Rumours spread that Deepika Padukone had been dropped from Nag Ashwin’s sequel. But fresh reports suggest the truth is more complicated.

Kalki 2898 AD Makers Recently Announced Her Removal

On September 18, Vyjayanthi Movies, the production house behind the film, posted on X that Deepika would not be part of Kalki 2. Their note seemed bitter as it pointed out the lack of commitment and said the partnership had not worked out. Soon after, talk began that the actress had asked for shorter work hours, a 25% salary hike, and extra accommodation for her team.

Fresh Reports Claim Deepika Padukone Herself Walked Out Due To…

New updates say Deepika did not leave because of demands. Instead, it was due to script changes. Insiders revealed to India Today that her role as Sumathi aka SUM-80 was supposed to be central to the story. But later, her part was cut down to a cameo. This came as a shock to her team, who had expected a big role. With little left for her to do, they decided to walk away from the film.

The producers’ post created a stir online. Many felt it was aimed at questioning Deepika’s professionalism, while others argued that script changes are common in large films. The timing of the news also added fuel to the fire, as she had earlier exited Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s Spirit. Both exits led to gossip that she had set strict limits on her work schedule after motherhood.

Deepika Padukone: Work Front

Even with the noise around Kalki 2, Deepika Padukone has plenty on her plate. She is now busy shooting King, an action-packed drama with Shah Rukh Khan. After that, she will star in Jawan director Atlee’s big pan-India film with Allu Arjun, which will feature multiple female leads. Earlier, Deepika’s look as a warrior was also unveiled in the cast announcement post.
