Colors returns with season 2 of social drama Balika Vadhu, watch teaser

The first teaser of Colors' Balika Vadhu season 2 has been released on Sunday. The social drama deals with ordeals of child marriage. The wildly popular season 1 of the show featured actors like Siddharth Shukla, Avika Gor, Neha Marda, Pratusha Banerjee, amongst others in lead roles.

The teaser gives glimpse into the life of a toddler who is already being considered for marriage as her mother talks about finding a prince for her while admiring her beauty. The little kid is then seen in a bridal avatar, and the voice-over mentions that child marriage continues to be one of the biggest social evils even today. And another Anandi has taken birth to bring it to a halt.

The promo was shared on the official Instagram handle of Colors channel with caption that read, "Baal vivaah wo kupratha hai jo aaj bhi samaaj mein jeevit hai! Isko mitaane ke liye janm liya hai ek nayi Anandi, ek nayi Balika Vadhu ne. Balika Vadhu Season 2 jald hi aa raha hai sirf #Colors par. #BalikaVadhu2."

Last time, it was Avika Gor and Avinash Mukherjee who played the titular roles in the show. While the makers are yet to confirm names, it is rumoured that young actors Shreya Patel and Vansh Sayani will star in lead roles.
