The box office battle between Rajinikanth’s Coolie and Hrithik Roshan–Jr NTR’s War 2 has reached Day 10. Both films have seen a small rise in collections, but their journeys are very different. Rajinikanth’s action drama is trying to hold steady, while the spy thriller is struggling to stay strong. The key question now is whether this minor growth can change their fate?
Coolie Box Office Collection Day 10
Lokesh Kanagaraj directorial had one of the biggest openings of the year. The film earned Rs 65 crore on its first day and quickly crossed the Rs 200 crore mark. However, weekdays brought a clear slowdown and raised doubts about its long run.
The second weekend has given the movie fresh momentum. As per Sacnilk, Coolie collected Rs 10 crore on its second Saturday. On Friday, it had made Rs 5.85 crore, while Thursday brought in Rs 6.15 crore. With these figures, the 10-day total stands at Rs 245.50 crore in India.

Filmed across Chennai, Hyderabad, Visakhapatnam, Jaipur, and Bangkok, Coolie mixes action with Rajinikanth’s mass appeal. Even if it misses breaking every Kollywood record, the film is likely to secure a spot in the top five highest-grossing Tamil movies. For Rajinikanth, who already has two entries on that list, Coolie could soon become his third.
War 2 Box Office Collection Day 10
On the other side, War 2 entered cinemas with huge expectations. As part of YRF’s Spy Universe, and with Hrithik Roshan and Jr NTR leading the cast, the film was expected to be a pan-India blockbuster. But the numbers tell a different story.
After an impressive opening weekend, War 2 dropped sharply. It earned Rs 32.65 crore on its first Sunday but slipped to Rs 8.75 crore on Monday. By its second Friday, collections had fallen to just Rs 4 crore (the lowest yet). A small rebound on Saturday brought in Rs 6.25 crore, taking the 10-day total to Rs 214.50 crore.

Despite this growth, the film is still underperforming. Compared to YRF’s last release Saiyaara, War 2 looks weaker despite having a big franchise tag and two superstar leads.
The gap between the two films is now around Rs 31 crore, with Coolie ahead in the box office race. Rajinikanth’s film is comfortably moving toward blockbuster status, while War 2 is raising questions for the makers of the Spy Universe.
After War 2 flop, YRF will have to rethink its future strategy, especially with upcoming films like Alpha starring Alia Bhatt and Sharvari. Meanwhile, Coolie has shown resilience and is on its way to becoming another success in Rajinikanth’s long career.
