Crash Course in Romance ep 11: Netflix’s Crash Course in Romance is definitely the IT K-drama currently, garnering top ratings and maximum viewers’ attraction. The episode 11 of the romantic comedy was dropped on Saturday, February 18, with some shocking plot twists. If you are following the drama, you would know our star maths teacher Choi Chi-Yeol was recently indulged in a ‘scandal’ with Nam Haeong-Seon. The controversy erupted after Jo So-Hui claimed Haeong-Seon has been sleeping with Chi-Yeol in exchange of her daughter Nam Hae-Yi’s tutoring. This left Hae-yi heartbroken who has now decided to speak up for her “aunt”.

Nam Hae-Yi got into All-Care programme, thanks to her hard work and dedication. But, after she was unfairly removed from it, it did not sit well with Choi Chi-Yeol. The maths teacher offered to tutor her in exchange of her mother Haeng-Seon’s tiffin boxes, which was apparently his comfort food. However, Jo So-Hui, Hae-Yi’s classmate Jo So-Ah’s mother, claimed that the side-dish restaurant owner was sleeping with the star teacher in exchange of tutoring. This led to severe criticism from the students community. So much so, Chi-Yeol decided to step down from his position at tutoring academy The Pride. Mr Popular, a neighbourhood YouTuber, confronted the star teacher over the alleged scandal.

It was when Nam Hae-Yi stepped up to protect her mother, who is actually her aunt. For those who don’t know, Hae-Yi is the daughter of Haeong-Seon’s older sister. She had left the toddler at her door, which forced Haeong-Seon to leave her flourishing career as an athlete and take up a job at her mother’s restaurant.

“She is not my mother; she is my aunt,” Hae-Yi said during the livestream, adding “So this isn’t scandal. This is romance.”

Choi Chi-Yeol in shock

This information was news to Choi Chi-Yeol who has been holding himself back from confessing his feelings to Nam Haeong-Seon, thinking she is married and her husband lives abroad. Hae-Yi’s confession leaves him in utter shock. Hae-Yi also insists that his feelings for her mother are not one-sided. Choi Chi-yeol then leaves to meet Haeong-Seon and hugs her with the affection she has never felt.

It’s heartwarming to see Chi-Yeol and Haeong-Seon finally accept their feelings for each other. What remains to be seen in how they manage to tackle the alleged scandal while also protecting their dignity.
