Dacoit Box Office Collection Day 6: The box office journey of Dacoit: A Love Story has taken an interesting turn. Starring Adivi Sesh and Mrunal Thakur, the film has crossed a key milestone but continues to struggle with steady growth. Despite a solid start, the numbers suggest a lukewarm response from audiences.
Directed by Shaneil Deo, the action drama hit cinemas on April 10. It opened to mixed reviews and has since shown limited upward momentum at the ticket window.
Dacoit Box Office Collection Day 6
According to trade estimates, Dacoit earned around Rs 1.55 crore net on Wednesday, taking its total domestic collection to Rs 27.05 crore. With this, the film has surpassed the lifetime earnings of HIT: The Second Case, which had collected Rs 25.92 crore in India.
However, the film still trails behind Sesh’s biggest hit, Major. For comparison, Major had already reached Rs 30.65 crore within six days of its release, indicating a stronger hold at the box office.
The film began its run with Rs 6.55 crore on the opening day. It saw a slight rise on Saturday with Rs 6.85 crore and maintained a decent Rs 6.40 crore on Sunday. However, weekday collections dipped, with Rs 2.70 crore on Monday and Rs 3 crore on Tuesday. Wednesday’s fall again highlights the film’s inconsistent trend.

Adivi Sesh On Dacoit Box Office Collection And Competition With Dhurandhar 2
Amid discussions about the film’s performance, Adivi Sesh addressed whether external factors played a role. He said, “Honestly, who can say? I mean, had Dhurandhar not been around, had there not been a two-month IPL this time, or had Kantara and Vikram not been released day as Major…”
DON'T MISS
His comment reflects the unpredictable nature of box office success. Sesh pointed out how his previous film Major also faced strong competition yet performed well. This suggests that multiple elements—timing, content, and audience mood—shape a film’s fate.
Despite the current trend, the actor remains hopeful. He added, “But the destiny for this film has been beautifully positive, and I’m just grateful now.”
‘Blockbuster’ Tag Sparks Debate
Interestingly, the makers recently labelled Dacoit a blockbuster after it reportedly grossed Rs 40 crore worldwide over its opening weekend. The claim triggered mixed reactions online, with some questioning the early celebration.
Responding to the criticism, Sesh stood by the film. He said, “To them it feels, ‘How can they?’ But at the end of the day, I’ll tell you one thing: everything about our film has come from an honest space.”
He also emphasised the strong backing from within the film industry. According to him, the appreciation from fellow actors and filmmakers helped boost the film’s visibility organically.
About The Film

Produced by Supriya Yarlagadda under Annapurna Studios, the film revolves around a convict seeking revenge on his former lover. His journey unfolds through a series of robberies, only to take an emotional turn when their paths cross again.
So far, the film has earned over Rs 41 crore worldwide. While it has achieved notable benchmarks, its long-term box office success will depend on whether it can sustain momentum in the coming days.
Meanwhile, Adivi Sesh is gearing up for his next project, G2, the sequel to Goodachari, as fans watch closely to see how Dacoit performs in its second week.
