Ajay Devgn, Rakul Preet Singh and R Madhavan’s De De Pyaar De 2 opened to an average response on November 14. The film showed some improvement on Saturday, but it wasn’t enough to make a major impact at the box office. The sequel, which continues the age-gap romance between Ashish (Ajay Devgn) and Ayesha (Rakul Preet Singh), is still behind the first film’s opening earnings.
De De Pyaar De Box Office Collection Day 2
On its first day, the film earned Rs 8.75 crore in India. Saturday collections rose to an estimated Rs 12.25 crore, showing around 40% growth. This means more audiences came to watch the film over the weekend. Still, this total falls short of the original De De Pyaar De, which earned roughly Rs 23 crore in its first two days.
While the weekend growth is encouraging, the next few days are crucial. Experts suggest that if the film can maintain steady collections through Monday and the rest of the week, it could recover some ground. Though unlikely to become a blockbuster, it may still earn a respectable total over its theatrical run, especially with promotions or ticket offers boosting attendance.
Interestingly, De De Pyaar De 2 has outperformed its South competitor Kaantha, starring Dulquer Salmaan, which released on the same day. Kaantha earned Rs 9.20 crore in two days and is expected to cross Rs 10 crore by Sunday.

About This Ajay Devgn Starrer Sequel
The film picks up where the first De De Pyaar De left off. After Ashish won over his own family, the sequel follows him and Ayesha as they seek approval from her parents, Rajji (R. Madhavan) and Anju (Gautami Kapoor). Their efforts to act “modern” clash with Ashish’s age, creating funny and awkward situations.
To stop their daughter’s unconventional romance, Ayesha’s parents bring in a new character, Aditya (Meezaan Jafri), hoping he will distract her from Ashish. The story mixes comedy and emotions as Ashish tries to prove his love while facing family resistance. Written by Luv Ranjan and Tarun Jain, the film maintains the humour and subtle generational messages of the first movie.
Returning leads Ajay Devgn and Rakul Preet Singh are joined by R. Madhavan, Gautami Kapoor, and Meezaan Jafri. Jaaved Jaaferi reprises his role from the first film, while the supporting cast includes Ishita Dutta, Tarun Gahlot, Sanjeev Seth, Suhasini Mulay, and Jyoti Gauba.
Produced by T-Series Films and Luv Films, the movie is directed by Anshul Sharma, replacing Akiv Ali. Shot in London and Punjab, it carries an estimated budget of Rs 100 crore. With a runtime of 147 minutes and a U/A 13+ rating, De De Pyaar De 2 aims to recreate the charm of the first film while adding fresh twists to the story.
