Bollywood actress Deepika Padukone, who is currently in her home-town in Bangalore, has reportedly tested positive novel coronavirus. Earlier in the day, it was reported that her family, including father Prakash Padukone, mother Ujala and sister Anisha had contracted the virus.
According to Bollywood paparazzi Viral Bhayani, her father, badminton legend Prakash Padukone, has been hospitalised after his contaction with the virus. “Deepika Padukone’s father Prakash Padukone hospitalised for Covid-19 treatment, mother and sister also positive,” Viral wrote on Instagram.
Vimal Kumar, a close friend of Padukone told PTI, “Around 10 days back, Prakash, his wife (Ujjala) and second daughter (Anisha), they developed symptoms and got themselves tested and the results came out to be positive He is okay now. All his parameters are fine, his wife and daughter are at home and he too will be hopefully discharged in 2-3 days.”
Deepika had flown to Bangalore with her husband and actor Ranveer Singh last month. The actress is yet to release an official statement regarding the development.
Meanwhile, on the work front, Deepika has a number of projects in her kitty. She will be seen in Shakun Batra’s next with Siddhant Chaturvedi. Recently, it was reported that the actress is also the leading lady of Shah Rukh Khan’s comeback film Pathan. She will also feature in the Hindi remake of Hollywood classic The Intern along with Amitabh Bachchan.
