News reports further add that Mumbai police has been investigating the case with respect to the paid and fake followers. Now, the latest news update states that actors Deepika Padukone and Priyanka Chopra could also get questioned by the Mumbai police concerning the fake social media followers scam. Not just Deepika Padukone and Priyanka Chopra, there are nearly 176 high profile accounts which reportedly include Bollywood celebrities, sports personalities and Builders among the high-profile people who reportedly will be interrogated by the Mumbai police.

Over 100 celebrities from Bollywood and TV are on Mumbai Police’s watch regarding ‘fake social media followers’ scam. Many celebrities with so many followers base on Instagram will be summoned by Mumbai Police for interrogation. Mumbai crime branch will record statements of these celebrities in the matter of increasing the likes and followers through fake profiles on social media. The statement of 22 celebrities has already been recorded.
Bhumi Trivedi also took to her verified Instagram account to thank the POlice for their quick action.
