Fans of Bollywood’s favourite on-screen pair Ranbir Kapoor and Deepika Padukone are buzzing again. The duo, who starred together in three films, including Bachna Ae Haseeno and Tamasha, haven’t shared the screen since 2015. Now, a fan’s Instagram reel has brought reunion hopes back to life. Deepika’s subtle response to it has only added to the excitement.

A fan named Sonalika Puri shared a reel on Instagram asking filmmakers to bring the two stars together again. She wrote, “This is a humble appeal to all directors and producers that can you guys please cast Ranbir Kapoor and Deepika Padukone in a film together? Preferably a rom-com? Tum log bolte rehte ho picturey paise nahi kama rahi log theatre me nahi aa rahe. Tum cast toh karo saath mein unko.”
She went on to say, “Jis jodi ki public appearances itni zyaada buzz create kar deti hein woh waapis screen pe aayenge toh socho kya ho jayga! Oh god, I can’t even stop smiling thinking about it! Ache se script likho aur dono ko cast karo. Kyuki dono hi bohot zyada talented hain and itne khoobsurat lagte he sath me yaar.”
Deepika noticed the reel and liked the post. Fans spotted it immediately and social media lit up. One user said, “Deepika liked this reel omg.” Another commented, “She liked!! That means DP is ready!”
Some fans even started speculating about future projects. Reports suggest Ranbir might revive RK Studios and produce three films, with one possibly starring Deepika and directed by Konkona Sen Sharma. But so far, there is no official confirmation of any project.
Ranbir Kapoor, Deepika Padukone’s Personal And Professional Front
The chemistry between Ranbir and Deepika has always been a hit with fans. Their earlier films were loved both critically and commercially. Even though fans are eager to see them together again, both stars have moved on in their personal lives. They dated for almost two years after Bachna Ae Haseeno but parted ways in 2010. Deepika married Ranveer Singh in 2019, and they have a daughter, Dua. Ranbir married Alia Bhatt in April 2022, and their daughter Raha was born the same year.
On the work front, both are busy with big projects. Deepika was last seen in Singham Again and will next appear in Shah Rukh Khan’s King and Allu Arjun’s upcoming film. Ranbir was last seen in Animal and will feature next in Love and War and Nitesh Tiwari’s Ramayana.
