Akanksha Chamola, wife of Bigg Boss 19 winner Gaurav Khanna, recently faced heavy trolling online. The backlash began after her dance video from an event went viral on social media. Soon after, she was targeted with derogatory “bar dancer” comments.
The controversy started after the Bigg Boss 19 success party in late 2025. A video of contestant Farhana Bhatt dancing at the event first went viral. Soon, a section of Gaurav Khanna’s fans allegedly began trolling Farhana using offensive labels. This triggered a fan war. In response, Farhana’s supporters later dug out a separate video of Akanksha dancing at a Mumbai event. They used the same insults against her and accused fans of following “double standards”.
Gaurav Khanna has now stepped in and addressed the trolls openly.
Gaurav Khanna DEFENDS Akanksha Chamola Over Viral Dance Video
In an interview with Hungamastudio, Gaurav Khanna said he is not bothered by online trolls. He clarified that the video was from a celebration hosted by his publicity team. He said the team worked hard while he was inside the Bigg Boss 19 house.
Anupamaa actor shared, “It was their success party and we were there to be a part of their celebration. And as I don’t enjoy dancing much, my wife Akanksha felt she should join them and make the moment bigger as it was everyone’s victory. A lot of them don’t even know who she was dancing with. I just stood behind and let her enjoy it, as it was my team’s win after all. They were the people who worked hard for me in my absence and they also deserve to enjoy themselves.”
Gaurav also spoke about Akanksha’s personality. He said he loves her honest and outgoing nature. He added that negative comments do not affect him.
“These are the qualities even people love about us as a couple. Aur jinko nahi pasand aaraha hoon shayad agle project mein pasand aajaun. I will try my best to win them over as well.”
Gaurav And Akanksha’s Love Story
Gaurav Khanna and Akanksha Chamola’s relationship has always drawn attention because of how it began. The two met during a television audition. At the time, Gaurav was already a known face on TV. Still, he introduced himself as a newcomer and even used a fake name, “Rakesh”.
Unaware of his real identity, Akanksha gave him acting tips. She later accepted a lift to her next audition. Gaurav then asked her to Google his name. That is when she discovered who he really was. What began as a prank slowly turned into friendship and love.
The couple got married on November 24, 2016. They had a grand three-day wedding in Gaurav’s hometown, Kanpur. Despite a nine-year age gap, they have remained strong and supportive of each other.
