This post came just days after Yuzvendra Chahal made headlines for speaking about their divorce publicly for the first time. Appearing on Raj Shamani’s podcast, Chahal opened up about wearing a T-shirt that read “Be Your Own Sugar Daddy” on the day of their final court hearing.
Explaining the choice, he said, “Meko nahi karna tha drama, I just wanted to give one message and mai ne vo de diya.”
While he insisted that he didn’t want to create controversy, Chahal hinted that the T-shirt was a response to a situation sparked by Dhanashree. He added, “Kyunki saamne se kuch cheej hua tha, aur mera pehle mann nahi tha. Fir saamne se kuch hua toh fir mai ne kaaha ab sambhaal lo ab mujhe nahi parwah kisi ki. Mai ne na kisi ko abuse kara, bus mujhe message dena tha.”

For the unversed, DhanashreeVerma and Yuzvendra Chahal tied the knot in December 2020 after connecting through her online dance classes during the lockdown. They settled in Haryana after marriage, but soon faced issues over relocating. While Dhanashree reportedly wanted to shift to Mumbai to pursue her career, Chahal preferred to stay close to his family. This disagreement reportedly became a major reason behind their split.
The couple officially parted ways in March 2025 through mutual consent. Reports suggested that Dhanashree received an alimony of approximately Rs 4.75 crore. Chahal later admitted that their relationship had been strained for nearly two years, and he struggled emotionally during the process. In his podcast appearance, he revealed that he experienced depression and suicidal thoughts while dealing with the pressure of pretending everything was fine.
