Dhurandhar 2 advance booking has created a huge buzz ahead of the film’s release. The Ranveer Singh starrer is getting a massive response across India, with ticket sales increasing quickly every hour. At the time of writing, the film had already earned around Rs 42.71 crore in advance booking for the opening day. With block seats included, the total went close to Rs 47.91 crore. Nearly 10 lakh tickets have been sold so far.
Trade reports say the film is heading towards one of the biggest openings in recent years. More than 12,000 shows have been scheduled across the country, and many theatres are already reporting fast filling shows. The current trend suggests the film may challenge the opening records of big blockbusters like Pathaan and Baahubali 2.
Dhurandhar 2 advance booking numbers are mainly driven by the Hindi version, which alone has crossed Rs 40 crore in sales. At the same time, the film is also doing well in Telugu, Tamil, Kannada and Malayalam versions, which is helping the overall total grow.
State-wise, Maharashtra, Karnataka, Delhi, Telangana and Gujarat are leading the advance booking. Maharashtra has already crossed Rs 10 crore with block seats, while Karnataka and Delhi are showing strong occupancy. In many cities, evening and night shows are marked almost full, and several theatres are adding extra screenings.
The film has also broken ticket sales records during advance booking. It has already crossed Pathaan’s 5.45 lakh tickets and Baahubali 2’s 6.5 lakh ticket sales in India before release. Because of the huge demand, exhibitors have started increasing the number of shows even before the first day.
DON'T MISS
One of the biggest talking points is the long runtime of the film. Dhurandhar 2: The Revenge runs for nearly four hours, making it one of the longest Hindi films in recent times. Due to heavy demand, theatres in major cities have opened late-night and early-morning shows, which is very rare before release day.
Reports say cinemas in Mumbai, Pune and Ahmedabad have started bookings for shows as early as 2:00 am. Some multiplexes in Mumbai (including theatres in Sion and Thane) have scheduled shows between 2:15 am and 5:30 am to manage the rush. More theatres may follow this pattern if the demand continues.
About The Sequel
The film follows undercover agent Jaskirat Singh Rangi (also known as Hamza Ali Mazari), played by Ranveer Singh. The story shows him entering a dangerous network of gangsters, terrorists and political forces to destroy India’s enemies from inside. The film also stars Arjun Rampal, Sanjay Dutt, R Madhavan and Sara Arjun in key roles.
The Central Board of Film Certification has given the film an ‘A’ rating because of strong violence and language. The approved runtime is around 3 hours and 49 minutes after a few cuts were made.
