Dhurandhar 2 The Revenge continues its strong run at the box office and is breaking records quickly. However, amid its success, the film has now landed in controversy. Writer and filmmaker Santosh Kumar R S has accused the makers of copying his script, which has started a fresh debate online.
The film is directed by Aditya Dhar and has been widely praised for its scale and storytelling. But now, the focus has shifted to serious plagiarism claims. So far, the makers have not reacted to these allegations.
Dhurandhar 2 Makers Accused Of Stealing Story
Speaking to the media, Santosh Kumar R S claimed that the story of Dhurandhar 2 is his. He said, “You all might have watched Dhurandhar 2. It is working very well everywhere. After watching the movie, I came to know that it is my script and story. I had written it with a lot of hard work in 2023. I had narrated it to many companies because I was told that if I need big actors in the film, there has to be a corporate organisation backing it.”
He further shared that he approached big production houses like Sony, Zee, T-Series and Dharma Productions. He also said that he wanted to cast Aditya Roy Kapur in the lead role.
The filmmaker added that he had registered his script with the Screenwriters Association in November 2023. He also claimed that he has email proof and other documents to support his claim.
Writer Plans Legal Action Against The Makers
Santosh Kumar R S has now decided to take legal action. He said, “I am putting a case on this movie because even though they have made a good movie, my story has been exploited. I had written the film for cinema and entertainment, but they made it as political propaganda. It is hurting me.”

He also spoke about the struggles of writers in the industry. He added, “What happened with me should not happen with anyone, and that’s why I will put my maximum effort to let people know about it.”
On the other hand, the official credits of the film mention that the script is written by Aditya Dhar, with additional screenplay by Ojas Gautam and Shivkumar V Panicker. The makers have maintained that the Dhurandhar franchise is a fictional story.
At the same time, the film mixes fiction with real-life inspirations. It includes references to events like the 26/11 Mumbai attacks, demonetisation, and gang conflicts in Karachi’s Lyari area. Some characters are also loosely inspired by real figures.
Earlier, Aditya Dhar had clarified that the film is not based on any one real person or true story.
