The reaction of Hrithik Roshan to Dhurandhar has set off a fresh storm online. This Ranveer Singh film is already a huge hit, crossing Rs 100 crore in its first week, and continues to lead the box office. His comments added more heat to the conversation around the film. Hrithik’s post went viral in no time, and he received massive backlash online.

What Hrithik Roshan Said About Dhurandhar

Hrithik shared a long note on Instagram after watching the film. He spoke about it with emotion and curiosity. In his review, he wrote, “I love cinema, I love people who climb into a vortex and let the story take control, spin them, shake them until what they want to say is purged out of them onto that screen. DHURANDAR is an example of that. Loved the storytelling. It’s a cinema.”

The actor also made it clear that he did not agree with the politics of the film. He said, “I may disagree with the politics of it, and argue about the responsibilities filmmakers should bear as citizens of the world. Nevertheless, can’t ignore how I loved and learnt from this one as a student of cinema. Amazing.”

This line triggered immediate backlash as some users accused him of giving “half-hearted praise.” Others said he should not question the politics of a film based on the India–Pakistan conflict. Trolls filled his timeline with jokes and took digs at him.

On Thursday, Hrithik Roshan posted again and focused only on the film’s performances and direction. He said he still could not get Dhurandhar out of his mind. The actor praised Aditya Dhar’s vision and wrote that Ranveer’s shift from silent to fierce was powerful. He called Akshaye Khanna one of his longtime favourites.

Hrithik said R Madhavan carried bloody mad grace, strength and dignity. He also praised Rakesh Bedi’s performance as phenomenal and applauded the makeup and prosthetics team. He added that he cannot wait for Part 2.

Despite this, the trolling did not stop. Many questioned his political remark again, while others mocked him for changing his tone.

“Kangana Ranaut ka twt aane se pehle palat gaya abhi to maja aata.”

“Damage control tweet. Was it you or saba Azad posting on your behalf on Instagram.”

“But what about disagreeing with the politics of it and arguing about the responsibilities as a filmmaker to bear as a citizen of the world?”

“Bhai mood swings ho rahe tujhe?”

About Dhurandhar

Meanwhile, Dhurandhar continues its strong run. The film follows Hamza Ali Mazari, an undercover Indian agent who enters Pakistan’s criminal network by joining Rehman Dakait’s gang. His marriage to a political leader’s daughter becomes the film’s big twist. The cast includes Ranveer Singh, Sanjay Dutt, Arjun Rampal, R Madhavan, Sara Arjun and Rakesh Bedi. It was released on December 5 and Part 2 is set for March 19, 2026.

Hrithik Roshan was last seen in War 2, which struggled at the box office despite a major cast. YRF now faces pressure with its next big release Alpha, which is a high-stakes, female-led action film. Hrithik has not announced his next project.
