Vikrant Massey has had enough of the retirement buzz. The 12th Fail star, whose cryptic Instagram post last year sent fans into a frenzy, has now cleared the confusion. In a recent interview with Filmygyan, Vikrant laughed off the drama and confirmed that he’s still very much part of Bollywood.
When a reporter asked him directly, “Vikrant, aap retire ho rahe ho ya nahi, aap please final jawab dedo,” Vikrant replied, “Mai kahin nahi ja raha yaar. Mai bilkul kahin nahi ja raha. Aur mai retire tab bhi nahi hua tha. Mai yahin hoon.”

Vikrant Massey Retirement Buzz: What Really Happened?
The confusion began in December 2024 when Vikrant shared a late-night Instagram post talking about stepping away from acting. Fans and media went into overdrive, wondering if the actor was really calling it quits. But within days, Vikrant clarified that the post wasn’t about a permanent break.
Speaking at the Times Network India Economic Conclave, Vikrant explained the post’s context. He said, “As mentioned in that post, the last few years have been truly phenomenal. I probably reflect upon the year gone by with utmost humility and gratitude. I got much more than what I asked for. As an artist, I have been working for the past 21 years professionally. But after 12th Fail, it has really been remarkable. Just to put things into context, I put out that post at midnight because I was not able to sleep.” He also mentioned that the decision was discussed with his wife, Sheetal Thakur.
Still, not everyone bought his explanation. Trolls accused him of using a “fake retirement” stunt to draw attention to his film The Sabarmati Report, which was running in theatres at the time. Despite the criticism, Vikrant didn’t react much and chose to move on quietly.
