Esha Gupta has finally spoken out about her fallout with director Sajid Khan during the shoot of Humshakals. In a new interview, the actress revealed that the experience on set was so unpleasant, she even thought about quitting the film midway.

Years later, Esha is finally telling her side of the story. She told Siddharth Kannan that things with Sajid went downhill fast. She explained how tensions escalated on sets and said, “Vibes eventually set par kharaab ho chuke the.”

Esha Gupta Wanted To Quit Humshakals As Sajid Khan Abused Her

Esha said the situation reached a breaking point during a heated argument. She recalled, “I had a fight. Sajid Khan and I were not at all on the same page, and we ended up having a proper fight.”

What hurt her most was being verbally abused. She added, “See, I don’t like people abusing me. You should always treat people the way you want them to treat you. It’s that simple. Unhone mujhe gaali di… phir maine bhi di.”

She suggested Sajid’s behaviour was likely driven by stress or frustration. “Kuch log baat karne se pehle sochte nahi hai... frustrated hote hai.” Still, she clarified that she’s put the past behind her and isn’t interested in rehashing it.

Despite the clash, Esha didn’t walk away from the project completely. She said, “I walked out of the set. I went home. I didn’t stay. I had also made up my mind to exit the film.”

But when the film’s producer apologised to her (before Sajid did) she decided to return. Even so, she didn’t expect the film to do well. She admitted, “We knew it was going to be a huge disaster.”

Esha On Sajid Khan’s #MeToo allegations

When Sajid Khan was named during the #MeToo movement, Esha’s name was wrongly attached to the list of accusers. She immediately cleared the air and said. “No, that way I’ll give him credit. Like I’m openly saying now that he abused me. But Sajid never tried any of those [sexual misconduct] things with me.”

She also called out a publication that falsely linked her to Sajid’s dating history. Esha added, “I made sure they apologised to me for that.”

Esha Gupta also broke her silence on her rumoured romance with cricketer Hardik Pandya. She revealed, “Yeah, for some time we were talking. I don’t think we were dating, but yeah, we were talking for a couple of months.”

She explained that it was a short phase where they were figuring things out. She explained, “We met once or twice, that’s it. It ended before we even reached the dating stage.”

When asked if it could have been something serious, Esha admitted, “Maybe it could have happened. There was no drama or bitterness. It just wasn’t meant to be.”
