Faridabad police have arrested a man linked to the firing outside the Gurugram residence of YouTuber Elvish Yadav on Sunday, August 17, 2025. The suspect, identified as Ishant alias Ishu Gandhi, was taken into custody after a brief police encounter on Friday morning, August 22.
Man Named Ishant Arrested In Elvish Yadav House Firing Case
During the operation, Ishant reportedly fired at a police vehicle in an attempt to escape. Mukesh Kumar (Deputy Commissioner of Police, Crime) said, “Ishant fired four rounds on the police vehicle in a bid to flee, but no police personnel was injured. The police fired in retaliation, causing a bullet injury in his leg, a little below the knee. He was then arrested.”
Ishant sustained a leg injury but is now under police custody. Authorities confirmed that he was one of the shooters involved in the attack on Elvish Yadav’s residence.
On August 17, three unidentified gunmen on motorcycles opened fire outside Elvish Yadav’s house in Gurugram. Police said the attackers fired over two dozen rounds at around 5:30 a.m., hitting the ground and first floors of the building before fleeing.
Elvish was not at home at the time, but his family was present. Elvish’s father, Ram Avtar Yada,v said, “Our family was present at home when the firing incident happened. I was asleep when it occurred. Around 25–30 rounds were fired. In the CCTV footage, three miscreants can be seen, out of which two are clearly visible.”
Reports suggest the Bhau Gang claimed responsibility for the attack. A social media post warned Elvish for allegedly promoting illegal betting apps. It read:
“Greetings to all. Today, a shooting took place at ELVISH YADAV’s house. It was carried out by NEERAJ FARIDPUR and BHAU RITOLIYA… Whoever promotes these apps, be aware, a call or a bullet could come at any time. Stay alert [sic],” reported India Today.
Elvish’s Fan Spreads Hate Against Rajat Dalal For Petty Reason
Amid the incident, a die-hard Elvish fan criticised Rajat Dalal for not commenting on the firing on social media. In a video, the fan said: “Naam le raha hoon main ek to Aju Aath aur Rajat Dalal. Ek story nahi lagi, matlab, arre ek story to lagti na haan… Main to Elvis ke peeche Rajat ko jaanne laga tha. Koi nahi jaanta tha.”
Such reactions are common from the so-called Elvish Army, fans known for aggressively defending the YouTuber online. Despite the criticism, Elvish and Rajat are close friends and recently appeared together on the Adda Extreme OTT reality show.
Similar trolling has happened before, such as when Divyanka Tripathi faced criticism from Elvish fans for not recognising him on Laughter Chefs 2.
