Event Organizer Claims Loss of Rs 42 Lakh in Zareen Khan Cheating Case

In an exclusive interview with Media, Vishal Gupta, the complainant in the cheating case against Bollywood actor Zareen Khan, revealed that he incurred a loss of approximately Rs 42 lakh while arranging her event in Kolkata in 2018. Gupta had filed a complaint against Khan, leading to a Kolkata court issuing an arrest warrant for the actor.

Gupta disclosed that he paid an advance amount of Rs 12.5 lakh to Khan's team to bring her to Kolkata for the Kali Puja event. Additionally, he booked a five-star hotel, arranged transportation, and covered other expenses, resulting in the total loss of Rs 42 lakh.

He stated, "Not only the money, I also lost my reputation and business for the last 5 years due to her wrong allegations and statements leveled at me."

Gupta also alleged that Khan and her team threatened him multiple times after he filed the complaint in 2018. He shared a recorded call, purportedly between him and the actor, in which a person threatened to tarnish his reputation and business. However, the authenticity of the recording could not be independently verified by India Today.

Zareen Khan had been scheduled to inaugurate six pandals during the Kali Puja in Kolkata in 2018 but did not attend due to a dispute with the event management group owned by Gupta. The case of cheating was filed against Khan and her manager at Narkeldanga Police Station in Kolkata. Khan appeared before the police after being summoned for questioning and claimed she was misled by the event organizers regarding the nature of the event and who would be in attendance.
