FM Nirmala Sitharaman Lauds Kantara, Says It ‘Captures Rich Traditions’

Kantara: Finance minister Nirmala Sitharaman on Wednesday watched Kannada blockbuster movie Kantara. Featuring Rishab Shetty in the leading role, the film has emerged as a national phenomenon, garnering critical praises from audience and critics alike. Sri Sri Ravi Shankar was also among those who watched the film. They lauded Rishab Shetty’s vision, saying the film captured the greatness of Maenadu and the cultural heritage of Tuluvanadu and Karavali.

Nirmala Sitharaman Watches Kantara

Union Finance Minister Niramala Sitharaman was all praises for Kantara. She took to Twitter to share her review and wrote, “

She took to Twitter and wrote, “With a team of volunteers and well-wishers watched #KantaraMovie in Bengaluru. Well made @shetty_rishab (writer/director/actor). The film captures the rich traditions of Tuluvanadu and Karavali (sic).”

Sri Sri Ravi Shankar Reviews Kantara

Sri Sri Ravi Shankar enjoyed the screening of Kantara with his devotees at his ashram in Bengaluru. In a video, he said, “This film’s success brings such pride to Karnataka. The acting and storytelling were very enjoyable. It shows Malenadu’s greatness in a beautiful way.”

Rishab Shetty Overwhelmed

Thanking Ravi Shankar, Rishab Shetty wrote, “We thank Guruji @SriSri for the screening of #Kantara. It was our privilege to screen the movie at the @BangaloreAshram. We wish to be rooted in our culture & promise to carry it forward always (sic).”

About Kantara

Rishab Shetty wrote, directed, and starred in Kantara, an action drama. The film caught the essence of Karnataka’s Bhoota Kola heritage. Kantara also stars Achyuth Kumar, Kishore, Sapthami Gowda, and Pramod Shetty, in addition to Rishab. Kantara’s Kannada version was introduced on September 30 and is still in use across the country. At the box office, the film recently surpassed Rs 300 crore.
