Former Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashma director Malav Rajda releases promo of his new TV show; calls it 'hilarious ride'

Malav Rajda, the director who left the longest-running Indian television drama Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah in December, has released a trailer for his forthcoming show Professor Pandey Ke Paanch Parivaar. He shared a promo on his Instagram account with the caption, “Tried to entertain the audience for 14 years at 8 30 pm...The effort will continue again from 6th February Monday to Saturday on DANGAL 2...be ready for one hell of a hilarious ride. Presenting our new show. PROFESSOR PANDEY KE PAANCH PARIVAAR.”

Malav Rajda directed TMKOC for 14 years

Malav finished filming his final episode with the TMKOC team in December. He had been involved with the show for the previous 14 years. "After doing the show for 14 years, I believed I had gone into a comfort zone," the director explained to Hindustan Times. I reasoned that moving out and challenging myself would help me grow creatively."

Since a few actors left the show last year owing to disagreements with the production company, it was assumed that Rajda would do the same. He then explained, saying he was "grateful" for the show and its producer. "If you set out to do outstanding work, there will be creative differences among the crew, but it's always to improve the programme," he explained. I had no problems with the producing company. I just have praise for the show and Asit bhai (show producer Modi)." Raj Anadkat and Shailesh Lodha left the show in 2022. Malav Rajda is married to Rita Reporter, played by Priya Ahuja on the show. It remains to be seen whether Priya will also leave the show.
