Gigi Hadid arrested for marijuana possession, her rep issues clarification

Supermodel Gigi Hadid has been arrested for possession of marijuana, according to Rolling Stones She was arrested while she was on a vacation to the Cayman Islands last week, the reports added. When the supermodel and her friend arrived with her friend for their vacation, their luggage was searched on suspicion of illegal substance possession. 

Gigi Hadid arrested for possession of ‘ganja’ 

Gigi Hadid and her friend reportedly possessed ‘ganja and utensils used for consumption of ganja” and were arrested on “suspicion of Importation of Ganja and Importation of Utensils used for the consumption of ganja.”

The supermodel and her friend were taken to the Prisoner Detention Center. They were later released on bail. 

The report further added that Gigi and her friend were produced before the court on July 12 where they eventually pleaded guilty. They were fined  $1,000. 

“Gigi was travelling with marijuana purchased legally in NYC with a medical license,” Gigi Hadid’s representative said in a statement to Rolling Stone. “It has also been legal for medical use in Grand Cayman since 2017. Her record remains clear and she enjoyed the rest of her time on the island.”

Gigi’s rep clarifies

The rep told E! that “Gigi was traveling with marijuana purchased legally in NYC with a medical license. It has also been legal for medical use in Grand Cayman since 2017. Her record remains clear, and she enjoyed the rest of her time on the island.”

Gigi’s personal life

Gigi, who shares two-year-old daughter Khai with former boyfriend Zayn Malik, is currently rumoured to be dating Leonardo DiCaprio. The duo have been spotted at intimate dinners and gatherings with friends. However, both have kept mum about their alleged relationship.
