Gippy Garewal: Amir Khan’s stubbornness responsible for Laal Singh Chaddha’s failure, explosive claims by Grewal

Gippy Garewal: Since the trailer of Laal Singh Chaddha has been launched, it had made headlines for all the wrong reasons. Netizens started “boycott Lal Singh Chaddha” on social media, and soon it gained momentum. And the effect of boycotting the film has been seen in the film’s earnings.

Meanwhile, the critics have been praising the film but for the audience, the case is not the same. From an earnings perspective, the movie has been a disaster, for 7 consecutive days, the movie merely managed to earn 49.25 crores.

Gippi Garewal over ‘Laal Singh Chaddha’

Punjabi Actor and Singer Gippi Garewal have revealed some insights from the film and have claimed them as the reason for the film getting flop. During the promotion of ‘Yaar Mera titliyan varga’, Gippi Garewal talked about the failure of ‘Laal Singh Chaddha’ wherein, he said that “I agree that Aamir Khan’s accent of speaking Punjabi was widely criticised.

His accent was not liked. But when we were working on the dialogue of the film, we had the perfect style and tone of word speaking”.

Gippy Grewal claimed that he and his team helped write dialogues for ‘Laal Singh Chaddha’. He wrote Punjabi dialogues of ‘Laal Singh Chaddha’ along with actor-writer Rana Ranbir.

But when I saw some rushes of the film, I advised that the tone of Punjabi language is not right and those parts should be re-dubbed. They agreed, but they didn’t change. He may have felt that it is perfect for the character. But there (the tone of speaking Punjabi in the film) gets a bit disconnected.
