New Categories, Special Honours And Streaming Details

One of the biggest changes at Golden Globes 2026 is the addition of a new category. For the first time, podcasts are being honoured. The Best Podcast category features Call Her Daddy, SmartLess and Up First. This shows the growing influence of audio content.

Special awards will also be presented. Helen Mirren will receive the Cecil B. DeMille Award for her legendary film career. Sarah Jessica Parker will be honoured with the Carol Burnett Award for her contribution to television. These honours were celebrated earlier in a special event titled “Golden Eve,” which aired on January 8.

Another category gaining attention is Cinematic and Box Office Achievement. Nominees include Avatar 3 (Avatar – Fire and Ash), Mission Impossible – The Final Reckoning and Wicked For Good.
