#Satyamevjayate: Pearl V Puri breaks silence on alleged rape case

Earlier this month, television actor Pearl V Puri was arrested by the police in a minor rape case. Pearl was accused of sexually abusing a minor on the pretext of getting her work in the industry. Now a few days after getting bail in this matter, the actor has broken his silence. The actor has made a statement by posting a long note from his Instagram account.

The alleged rape incident for which Pearl was arrested took place in 2019 during the shoot of his television show, Bepanah Pyaarr.

"Life has its own way of testing people! I lost my nani ma few months back , then on her 17th day I lost my dad post that my mother got diagnosed with cancer and then this ghastly accusation. Last couple of weeks were gruelling for me like a nightmare," he wrote.

He added that "while I am ‘still numb’, I am grateful for the support of my friends, fans and well-wishers.

Ever since Pearl has been arrested, the alleged rape case has seen many twists and turns. While the alleged victim's mother had called Pearl innocent, her father demanded strict actions to be taken against him.

Many celebrities, including Divya Khosla Kumar, Ekta Kapoor among others, came forward and stood by Pearl's side and said that he is innocent.

Pearl is best known for appearing in shows such as 'Naagin 3', 'Bepanah Pyaar' and 'Brahmarakshas 2'.
