Filmmaker Vikram Bhatt, who made India’s first 3D horror film, Haunted 3D in 2011, is back with a sequel, Haunted – Ghosts of the Past 3D. The original starred Mimoh Chakraborty, Tia Bajpai, and Aarif Zakaria and earned over Rs 26 crore on a Rs 13 crore budget. Fans were excited for the new film, but the teaser has received strong criticism.

Fans React To Teaser Of Haunted 3D Sequel

The teaser, released ahead of the film’s November 21, 2025, release, left many viewers disappointed. Fans pointed out the heavy use of green screens and poor VFX. They said it lacked the realism of Bhatt’s earlier horror films, which were often shot at real locations. Some even compared the teaser to a low-quality video game.

User Reactions from social media:

“Itni film bna li in logo ne.. par Raaz or 1920 ke jaisi ek bhi film nhi..”

“Is this some spoof or what. Because the VFX is crap and the actors are worse. Rather, re-release movies like Purani Haveli or Virna instead of making garbage like this.”

“Pathetic teaser, man!! They had way better production value 15-20 years ago. Even TV serials now have better production value, bro.”

“WTF!!! Is this a joke ?? It looks so artificial… Earlier, they used to shoot at real locations. What happened to them now? It looks so fake. Production value is bad. Kon approve kon karta hai ye sab ??”

“Looks so fake.”

“My respect for Adipurush has increased.”

Many feel that shooting mostly on sound stages has made the film look cheap and less authentic compared to the original Haunted 3D.

About Haunted – Ghosts Of The Past 3D

Along with Mimoh Chakraborty and Tia Bajpai, the sequel stars Chetna Pande, Shruti Prakash, Gaurav Bajpai, Praneet Bhatt, and Hemant Pandey. Despite the backlash, the film is set to release in theatres on November 21, 2025, clashing with Farhan Akhtar’s 120 Bahadur.

While the original Haunted 3D was a milestone for Indian horror films, fans are concerned that the sequel might not meet expectations.
