Bigg Boss 16 fame and Tajikistani singer Abdu Rozik landed in headlines after reports claimed he was arrested at Dubai International Airport on Saturday. Several media outlets suggested he was taken into custody on suspicion of theft, sparking massive buzz online. But Abdu’s team says the real story is different.

Speaking to The Khaleej Times, his talent agency, S-Line Project, cleared the air and said. “First of all, he was not arrested; he was only detained by the police. Abdu Rozik provided an explanation and was released. He will be attending the award ceremony in Dubai today.”

They added,  “Secondly, information in the media is not correct. We will take all legal action to protect Abdu Rozik and his image. Also, we will provide you with all the information later on to inform the Indian people. Believe us, we have a lot to say regarding this issue.”

Abdu also addressed the situation himself through social media. He posted a story on Instagram showing a news clip of his supposed arrest and wrote, “A?”

Later, he shared more stories, including one video from the award night in Dubai. In it, he confidently walked the red carpet and wrote, “The truth is here.” Another story showed him posing with Bigg Boss 16 co-contestant Shiv Thakare and actor Shehzada Dhami. He seemed calm and happy, brushing off the gossip.

More About Abdu

He was recently part of Laughter Chefs 2 with YouTuber Elvish Yadav. Their chemistry was a hit, but Abdu exited midway due to Ramadan and a short trip to Dubai. Karan Kundrra later replaced him.

Abdu shot to fame with viral music videos and later gained a massive fan following after Bigg Boss 16. He also made headlines in 2024 for his boxing debut at Dubai’s Coca-Cola Arena and launched his restaurant brand Habibi in the UK.

Last year, he was also questioned by India’s Enforcement Directorate in a money laundering probe linked to a hospitality company. Although not named an accused, the news made national headlines.
