Actor Vin Diesel's former assistant filed a complaint against him on Thursday, claiming that he had sexually assaulted her in 2010 and that she had been sacked from her position a few hours afterwards. The former assistant Asta Jonasson claims in the case, which was submitted to a Los Angeles court, that Diesel attacked her in a hotel room in Atlanta when they were both filming "Fast Five." Diesel's legal and PR teams did not immediately respond to calls for comment.
The statements have come regarding this matter
Claire-Lise Kutlay, Jonasson's attorney, stated in a prepared statement, “Sexual harassment in the workplace will never stop if powerful men are protected from accountability. We hope her courageous decision to come forward helps create lasting change and empowers other survivors. Vin Diesel ignored Ms. Jonasson's clear statements of non-consent to his sexual assaults.”
In her lawsuit, Jonasson claims that after spending the night entertaining several ladies in his hotel suite, Diesel kissed and aggressively touched her breasts. After she begged for him to stop, according to the lawsuit, Diesel allegedly forced Jonasson to grip his erect penis. He then allegedly trapped her against a wall and masturbated, only releasing her after he was finished. Then he walked out of the motel room. The complaint claims that Jonasson was let go from her position as Diesel's assistant a few hours later.
Jonasson accused celebrities during the MeToo movement
Since the #MeToo movement gained traction in 2017 following allegations of sexual misconduct against now-imprisoned movie producer Harvey Weinstein, Jonasson is just one of many women who have accused powerful players in the entertainment business of sexual misconduct.
