Aamir Khan is all set to return to the big screen and may also reunite with his most trusted collaborator. According to reports, Aamir and Dunki director Rajkumar Hirani are in advanced talks for a new film. If everything goes smoothly, they’ll start filming in 2026.

This will be their third collaboration after 3 Idiots (2009) and PK (2014). Both films made huge waves at the box office and left a lasting impact on Bollywood fans. Now, 11 years after PK, the duo is planning to come back together for another major project.

Aamir Khan And Rajkumar Hirani To Collaborate For A Film

A source quoted by Pinkvilla revealed that Hirani had three ideas in mind but has now chosen one. He discussed it with Aamir, who liked the concept and the world Hirani is building. Both have shown strong interest and agreed to move forward with the project.

While the title remains under wraps, the film is expected to be Hirani’s next directorial after Dunki. The story will reportedly be a slice-of-life comedy with an emotional edge. Aamir is excited about the role as it offers him a fresh challenge.

Right now, Aamir is fully focused on Sitaare Zameen Par, which hits cinemas on June 2o. The response to this film will likely decide how quickly the Hirani project progresses.

Hirani Was Also In Talks With Ranbir Kapoor And Vicky Kaushal

The report also mentions that Hirani had discussions with Ranbir Kapoor and Vicky Kaushal for separate films. However, date issues forced those plans to take a backseat. Hirani still intends to work with both actors in the future. At present, he’s busy wrapping up his web series before jumping into pre-production with Aamir.

Meanwhile, Aamir has several other exciting projects on the table. He’s in talks with Leo director Lokesh Kanagaraj for a superhero film, which may begin in 2027. There’s also buzz about a Kishore Kumar biopic and two comedy films with Rajkumar Santoshi.

Additionally, Aamir is producing Lahore 1947, starring Sunny Deol and Preity Zinta.

After the mixed response to Laal Singh Chaddha, Aamir took a break. Now, he’s making a strong comeback with multiple projects in the planning stage.
