I-T officials survey Sonu Sood’s properties in Mumbai, Nagpur and Jaipur for 3rd day

The Income Tax department continued with its survey at Sonu Sood’s residence in Mumbai for the third consecutive day. The first survey by the I-T officials was carried out at 6 places related to the actor on September 15. The next morning, on September 16, they reached his residence again. Today, on Day 3 (September 17), the officials searched Sood’s Mumbai residence and other properties in Nagpur, Maharashtra, and Jaipur, Rajasthan.

According to media reports, the IT officials searched account books, income generated, expenditure and other financial records of the actor and other entities linked to him. The visit of the I-T officials, which was not termed as raid, was in connection with an alleged tax evasion probe, according to PTI. A real estate deal is also under the scanner of the income tax department.

Sonu Sood helped many people who have been affected by the novel coronavirus pandemic. During the first lockdown imposed by the government to curb the spread of Covid-19 in April 2020, the actor arranged transportation for migrant workers to reach their homes from different parts of the country. 

The actor also came out to rescue during the second wave of coronavirus when he arranged oxygen cylinders for people in dire need of medical facilities. He also arranged to airlift many people who were explicitly unable to afford medical treatment during the dreaded second wave.

Meanwhile, on the work front, the actor also released a book titled ‘I’m not a messiah’ wherein he described his journey of helping people during the pandemic. He was recently appointed as the brand ambassador of education by Arvind Kejriwal governemnt in Delhi.
