The eagerly awaited 71st Miss World pageant will take place in India from February 18 to March 9, the organizers announced on Friday. After almost thirty years, the highly anticipated international beauty pageant is returning to the nation with its most recent edition. The India Tourism Development Corporation (ITDC) in New Delhi will host The Opening Ceremony and "India Welcomes the World Gala" to kick off the pageant on February 20.

The finale of the Miss World Pageant

It will be streamed and broadcast worldwide, culminating in a grand finale on March 9 at the Jio World Convention Centre in Mumbai. The pageant will take place in several locations, such as the Bharat Mandapam in New Delhi, and 120 competitors from all over the world will take part in charity events and competitions.

At a press conference held in the city, the announcement was made in the presence of the current Miss World, Karolina Bielawska of Poland, and previous winners Toni Ann Singh of Jamaica, Vanessa Ponce De Leon of Mexico, Manushi Chhillar of India, and Stephanie Del Valle of Puerto Rico.

Indians Who Won the Honour

The international pageant was last held in India in 1996. In 2017, Chhillar became the most recent Indian champion of the pageant. The competition had previously been won by Reita Faria Powell, Aishwarya Rai, Diana Hayden, Yukta Mookhey, and Priyanka Chopra Jonas. Karnataka native Sini Shetty, the Femina Miss India World 2022, will compete in the prestigious pageant to represent India.
