India's Got Latent Star Samay Raina Opens Up About His Friendship with Kusha Kapila After Controversial Roast, Check

Samay Raina, a Kashimiri Pandit who diverted his career from Printing Engineering to fame with his comedic skills is leading the Gen-Z's hearts. With his YouTube show India's Got Latent, the stand-up comedian's fanbase is seeing a rise these days. Being the leader of on-spot humourous replies and dark jokes, Samay Raina has also faced backlash many times. One such case was the Kusha Kapila Roast. Samay's roast on a six-month-old show created a major controversy between the two, causing a rift in their friendship. The stand-up comedian recently opened up about his friendship dynamics with Kush Kapila and how things have changed. 

Samay Raina and Kusha Kapila's Friendship is Not the Same Anymore 

Usually, comedians have their own style for which they're known, Samay Raina is best known for cracking dark jokes. However, Samay's style of roasting cost him a friendship. Six months back, Samay, Kusha and some other comedians were invited to a show called Pretty Good Roast Show S1. On the show, as most of the comedians knew each other's jokes, Kusha was unaware of Samay's roast. Samay, on the other hand, cracked jokes regarding Kusha Kapila's personal life, divorce, pet dog, body and more. Calling her a 'Gold Digger' Samay Raina's roast completely took over the internet which created a major controversy. The episode reached 23M views on Ashish Solanki's YouTube Channel, just to watch what happened. This created a significant rift between the two prominent comedians.

Recently, India's Got Latent star opened up about his friendship with Kusha after the incident and his response is getting viral among the netizens. During an Ask Me Anything session on Reddit, Indian comedian Samay Raina broke his silence about his friendship with Kusha Kapila. He said, "Friendship with Kusha is not the same, we rarely talk but I spoke to her recently and it was great! I am fond of her regardless. I hope someday she and I can laugh about everything openly but that day has time. Always rooting for her success." 

His response is generating several reactions online. Some are siding with him while others are choosing Kusha over him.

Samay Raina and Kusha Kapila on Work Front

Moving on from his controversies Samay has worked pretty hard in 2024. He introduced a show to the audience, India's Got Latent and is expected to continue in 2025. Apart from that he's going to have a tour in 2025. His North American tour will commence on February 9th, 2025. 

On the other hand, Kusha Kapila is inching closer to becoming a full-time actress. Her web series Life Hill Gayi is set to release on Disney+Hostar in August 2025. She co-starring with Munna Bhaiya Divyenndu Sharma. Apart from that she has also appeared in the 2023 film Thank You For Coming and the 2020 Drama series Masaba Masaba.
