Bollywood’s King of Romance and action star Shah Rukh Khan has put a pause on the shoot of his upcoming film King after sustaining an on-set injury. The 60-year-old superstar, who has spent over 30 years entertaining fans, was filming an intense action sequence at Golden Tobacco Studio in Mumbai when he suffered a muscle strain.
According to a Bollywood Hungama report, Shah Rukh has flown to the US for medical treatment. The source revealed that the injury is not severe but is the result of repeated muscle strain from performing stunts over the years.
The report further mentions that Shah Rukh Khan has been advised to rest for a month after a minor surgery. It also states that the next filming schedule for King will now start around September or October, once the actor fully recovers. All bookings for shoots planned in Film City, Golden Tobacco, and YRF Studios from July to August have been cancelled.
The delay has only increased the anticipation around King, which is already being called one of SRK’s most ambitious projects. Fans are now waiting for more updates on the revised schedule.
Directed by Siddharth Anand, King is an action-packed drama slated for release between October and December 2026. The film features a star-studded cast including Deepika Padukone, Abhishek Bachchan, Rani Mukerji, Anil Kapoor, and Suhana Khan, marking her first screen appearance with Shah Rukh.
The film has grabbed attention for its high-budget action sequences, multiple international shooting locations, and frequent rescheduling. Shah Rukh will return to action films after hits like Pathaan, Jawan. This has made King one of the most hyped projects in Indian cinema.
