Priyanka Chopra Jonas is completing ten years in the United States, and she is now looking back at her work in Hollywood. The actor became a global name with Quantico in 2015. But she says she has found more creative freedom and variety in her Hindi films than in her English-language projects.

Here’s What Priyanka Chopra Said

In an interview with PTI from Los Angeles, Priyanka spoke openly about this difference. She said her work in India gave her a chance to play many types of characters.

Sharing her view, she said, “If you look at my Hindi filmography or Indian filmography, there’s a lot more variety than I have been able to achieve in my international work. I’m hoping to be able to create diversity and to be able to do really interesting work in my English-language work as well, like I did in my Bollywood films.”

Priyanka also said she still feels new in Hollywood even after a decade. She added, “So there’s a lot more growth that I’m hoping for to achieve there. I’m still quite early in my growth in Hollywood.”

Her words highlight a bigger issue many non-white actors talk about, which is the limited range of roles they are offered in Western films and TV.

PeCee’s honest response comes during a time when Hollywood is under pressure to improve representation. Priyanka has worked in major international projects like The Matrix Resurrections, Baywatch, Citadel and more. But the roles have not always allowed her the same range she enjoyed back in Bollywood.

Priyanka’s Film Journey And Return To Indian Cinema

Priyanka’s journey in entertainment began after she won Miss World 2000 at age 18. She entered films in 2003 and quickly found success with titles like Andaz, Mujhse Shaadi Karogi, Aitraaz and Fashion. By the 2010s, she was one of Bollywood’s most powerful and versatile stars before she moved to the United States to work globally.

Today, she is balancing both industries and exploring new opportunities. She said, “But I’m in a really interesting place where I have an amazing opportunity to work with different kinds of filmmakers from all around the world. And I’m grabbing that with both hands.” Her focus now is to create the same diversity in Hollywood that she once enjoyed in India.

Her international lineup includes Quantico, Citadel, and her upcoming film Heads of State. She is also active as a producer and uses her platform for global humanitarian work.

Priyanka is now preparing for a big return to Indian cinema. She will star in SS Rajamouli’s Varanasi in 2027, alongside Mahesh Babu and Prithviraj Sukumaran. This will be her first Indian release in eight years and is already one of the most talked-about films in the country.
