Jacqueline Fernandez’s makeup artist, Shaan Muttathil, indirectly mocked SS Rajamouli, Ram Charan, Jr NTR, and MM Keervani after their film’s loss at the Oscars. He expressed his thoughts in the comments section of an Instagram post announcing the victory of Naatu Naatu in the Best Original Song category. He wrote, “Hahahah this is so funny. I thought only in India we could buy awards lol. But now even Oscars. Money and what all we can get when we have the money. Even Oscars lol.”
In case you missed it, Naatu Naatu outshone the song Applause from Jacqueline Fernandez’s movie Tell It Like a Woman to clinch the prestigious award. The category featured other remarkable nominees such as Lady Gaga’s Hold My Hand from Top Gun: Maverick, Rihanna’s Lift Me Up from Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, and Son Lux, Mitski, David Byrne’s This Is A Life from Everything Everywhere All at Once.
