Janhvi Kapoor’s shoot was halted by protesting farmers

Bollywood actor Janhvi Kapoor is currently shooting for Good Luck Jerry in Bassi Pathana city of Fatehgarh Sahib. On 11th January, she was stopped by farmers who are protesting against the three agriculture laws. She was asked to share her opinion on farmers protest. They didn’t go back until crew members of the movie assure that Janhvi will share her opinions on farmers protest.

According to Station House Officer Balwinder Singh, “They’d told the workers and director that Bollywood actors have neither said anything in support of farmers protest nor made any comment. When the film director assured them that Janhvi Kapoor will make a comment on the protest then they went back. The shoot is going on.”

After some while, Janhvi shared an Instagram story on her account and wrote, “Farmers are at the heart of our country. I recognise and value the role that they play in feeding our nation. I hope a resolution is reached soon that benefits the farmers.”

Farmers, especially from Punjab and Haryana, have been protesting against three controversial farm laws for over 50 days now. Even after having several rounds of talks with the Centre, the impasse remains blocked. In the past, many Bollywood celebs, including Janhvi’s cousin Sonam Kapoor, Priyanka Chopra and Diljit Dosanjh among others have expressed solitude with the protesting farmers.
