The much-awaited first glimpse of Jr NTR starrer Dragon is finally out, and it has already sparked intense reactions online. Directed by Prashanth Neel, the film was earlier referred to as NTR-Neel and marks the actor’s big collaboration with the filmmaker behind blockbuster hits like KGF and Salaar.
Late on Tuesday night, production house Mythri Movie Makers released the Dragon glimpse on YouTube and social media. Both Jr NTR and Prashanth Neel also shared the teaser on their official handles. The nearly four-and-a-half-minute video introduces the dark and violent world of the film while hinting at its large-scale action setup.
What’s In The Dragon Glimpse?
Dragon glimpse opens with references to India’s opium trade before and after Independence. Soon after, viewers are introduced to Jr NTR’s intense character, a ruthless man operating in a brutal land ruled by criminals fighting for control over the illegal business. One striking sequence shows the actor standing atop a mountain surrounded by dead bodies, while several action scenes feature him battling enemies single-handedly with guns blazing.
However, while many fans praised the scale and visuals of the teaser, others felt the film looked too similar to Prashanth Neel’s earlier movies. Several social media users pointed out similarities between the dusty landscapes of Dragon and the worlds seen in KGF and Salaar. The dark colour grading, slow-motion action shots and gritty atmosphere also reminded viewers of the director’s previous work.
Apart from the visual comparisons, Jr NTR’s appearance in the Dragon glimpse became a major talking point online.

Netizens Feel Jr NTR Looks Weird In Teaser
Many users on Reddit questioned the actor’s physical transformation and claimed his new look did not suit the role.
One Reddit user wrote, “This looks like Saalar and KGF mixed bhai kuch to naya kar.”
Another commented, “Why the body of NTR looks disproportional? Why is his head bigger than his body and body is weirdly thin?”
A third user said, “Ntr ko weight lose nhi krna chahiye tha. His head looks odd with his body.”
One more quipped, “Ntr doesn’t have the aura.”
Another Redditor added, “He looks like a kid trying to act like a man.”
Despite the criticism, the Dragon glimpse has generated massive buzz among fans. Many viewers also appreciated Jr NTR’s aggressive screen presence and the ambitious scale of the film. Since this marks the actor’s first collaboration with Prashanth Neel, expectations are naturally very high.
The teaser also gives first looks at several supporting actors, including Anil Kapoor, Biju Menon, Rukmini Vasanth, Khushbu Sundar, Ashutosh Rana, Sidhant Gupta and several others. Anil Kapoor’s powerful cop avatar in particular has caught viewers’ attention.
Dragon is scheduled to hit theatres on June 11, 2027. The film is jointly backed by Mythri Movie Makers and NTR Arts. It will be released in five languages — Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada and Malayalam
