Kaala Paani web series on Netflix: Streaming giant Netflix on Friday debuted the first glimpse of upcoming series “Kaala Paani” – a survival drama. The project marks director Ashutosh Gowariker’s acting comeback and also stars Mona Singh in a pivotal role. According to a press release, the series, which is set in the Andaman and Nicobar Islands, is “a grounded story about the fight for survival and questions audiences on how far they would go to survive”. Amey Wagh, Sukant Goel, Arushi Sharma, Radhika Mehrotra, Vikas Kumar, Chinmay Mandlekar, and Poornima Indrajith also feature in pivotal roles in the upcoming Netflix drama.

Netflix has announced a new show titled ‘Kaala Paani’ starring Ashutosh Gowariker and Mona Singh in the leading role. Touted as a survival drama, Kaala Paani tells the tale of a group of people who must stick together to survive after being stranded by the ocean. What follows is conflict between people and their quest to survive as they find out they have more in common. Check out the first glimpse below:
Ashutosh Gowariker – the actor
Ashutosh Gowariker is best known as an actor for his roles in the television shows “Circus,” “Kabhi Haan Kabhi Naa,” and “Chamatkar”. He most recently appeared in the 2016 Marathi film “Ventilator.”
Ashutosh made his acting comeback with the 1993 film “Pehla Nasha” and went on to helm critically acclaimed films including “Lagaan,” “Swades,” and “Jodha Akbar.” After the 2022 movie “Jaadugar,” “Kaala Paani” is the second project that Netflix and Posham Pa Pictures have worked on together. The show has been directed by Amit Golani, and has also been produced by Saxena, Biswapati Sarkar, and Saurabh Khanna.
