Kaikala Satyanarayana: The South film industry awoke to sad news today, as another veteran Tollywood actor, Kaikala Satyanarayana, died on December 23rd at the age of 87. Kaikala Satyanarayana, the celebrated actor and former parliamentarian, died today at his Jubilee Hills residence in Hyderabad after a brief illness. His wife, son, and two daughters survive him.
Kaikala Satyanarayana's last rites
The final rites will be held tomorrow, December 24th, at the Mahaprasthanam crematorium in Jubilee Hills. He appeared in over 750 films over the course of his six-decade career. With the 1959 drama Sipayi Koothuru, he made his acting debut. He began his career as NTR's body double before accepting the role of Kaikala in the 1960 film Apoorva Sahasra Siraccheda Chintamani.
South film fraternity pays tribute
Several members of the film industry in the South paid tribute to the veteran actor. Mass Maharaja Ravi Teja expressed his sorrow on Twitter "Bereaved by the death of legendary actor Kaikala Satyanarayana garu. He is regarded as one of the best actors in Indian cinema."
"Deeply saddened to hear the demise of Kaikala Satyanarayana Garu.. His contribution to our film industry will be remembered forever !! May his soul rest in peace," Ram Charan wrote.
In addition to this, Natural Star Nani Tweeted, "Kaikala Satyanarayana gaaru...One of my favorite actors from the golden era of Telugu cinema. Mana intlo Manishi la anipistharu. Legendary body of work. Condolences to the family."
"Saddened to hear the demise of Kaikala Satyanarayana Garu.. His contribution to our film industry will be remembered forever !! May his soul rest in peace #kaikalasatyanarayana," wrote Allu Arjun.
