Malayalam actor Anil Nedumangad drowned in the Malankara dam in Thodupuzha on Friday, according to several media reports. The actor had stepped into the dam to take a bath with his friends but failed to manage the flow of the dam. The dam was near the shooting location for actor’s upcoming Malayalam film Peace.
While everyone else was bathing, Anil were pulled down deep in the water by strong currents. Rescue workers were called immediately who pulled him out of the water but he was later declared dead at the hospital by doctors. Anil is a popular actor known for his roles in films like Ayyapanum Koshiyum, Kammatipadam, Prinju Mariyam Jose and Pavada.
Anil’s demise has left south film industry in utter shock and pain. Several celebs took to social media to pay their respect to the late actor.
Facebook has commemorated Anil Nedumangad’s account to ‘Remembrance’ account. He had shared his last post on December 25 which was about director K. R. Sachidanandan who passed away in June 2020.
Dulquer Salmaan who worked with the actor in Kammatipadam took to his social media handles and wrote, “Heart hurts. Can’t make sense of this. RIP Anil Etta. Prayers and strength to your family. “
Indrajith Sukumaran, who shot with the actor just a few days ago also mourned the loss and wrote, ” Absolutely devastated to hear this news. Shot with him day before yesterday and today I hear this.. just cant believe! May his family have the strength to sail through this. RIP Anil Neduumangad. #GONETOOSOON.”
Prithviraj Sukumaran, a famous Malayalam film actor, producer, director and singer, confirmed the news via his Facebook post. “Nothing. I have nothing to say. Hope you’re at peace Anil etta,” Sukumaran wrote on his verified Facebook handle, alongside a photo of the late actor.
According to the latest reports, the actor’s mortal remains are at a private hospital, and will be transferred to the Thodupuzha General Hospital mortuary later in the evening.
