Kantara vs KGF 2: Rishab Shetty’s Kantara is unbeatable at the box office. In fact, it has stormed ahead of the Yash starrer KGF 2 phenomenon in Karnataka. The Kannada film has grossed over Rs 200 crore Nett in the state. Kantara broke the 200-crore mark in terms of gross international collection during the Diwali vacations. Only three Kannada movies have ever achieved this feat. Its achievement in the state of Karnataka, where it outperformed both KGF movies and recorded the biggest film footfalls ever, is even more astonishing.
Kantara vs KGF 2: Which Kannada film is better?
Both Kantara and KGF 2 are Kannada films. With both films shattering box office records, the comparison is inevitable. While Kantara continues its dream run at the box office, KGF Part 2 is the third highest-grossing Indian film worldwide.
After the paramount success of first part, KGF Chapter 2 released April 14. The third and final part of the franchise is in development. Kantara, meanwhile, hit the box office on September 30.
While KGF 2 was promoted as a Pan-India film, Kantara was dubbed in Hindi after 14 days of its release, owing to positive responses from audience.
Bankrolled on a massive budget of Rs 100 Cr, KGF 2 is the costliest Kannada film of all time. Kantara, on the other hand, has been made on a budget of Rs 16 Cr.
Rishab Shetty, who plays the protagonist in the film, is also credited for film’s direction. KGF has been directed by Prasanth Neel.
