Know the journey of Hema Malini the Dream Girl of Bollywood, on her birthday

Today is the 72nd birthday of Bollywood veteran actress and BJP MP Hema Malini.

Hema Malini was born on 16 October 1948 as the youngest child of VS Ramanujam Chakraborty and Jaya Chakravarty. She is from Tamil-speaking Iyengar family and Hema's mother was a film producer. Hema started her career in 1961 by performing as a dancer in a Tamil film.

Hema's political career began after former President Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam declared her a Member of the Rajya Sabha (2003-2009). In 2004, she joined the official Bharatiya Janata Party.

Hema Malini is a great actress as well as a great dancer. She is proficient in many forms of dance including Bharatanatyam.
