A throwback video of Thalapathy Vijay and Shah Rukh Khan has suddenly gone viral again, sparking massive reactions online. While many fans loved the rare moment between the two superstars, some social media users mocked Vijay after watching the clip from an old award show.
The viral video resurfaced shortly after Vijay’s latest political success grabbed headlines. According to reports, the actor-politician’s party won 96 seats and is leading in 11 more constituencies. Amid the celebrations, the old stage clip unexpectedly became a hot topic once again.

The throwback video dates back to the 7th Annual Vijay Awards held in Chennai in May 2013. Shah Rukh Khan attended the event to present an award to Thalapathy Vijay for his blockbuster film Thuppakki.
However, instead of making it a simple award presentation, SRK decided to entertain the crowd. He encouraged Vijay to dance on stage in front of the audience. Initially, Vijay appeared hesitant, as he is known for being reserved during public appearances.
After a few moments, the actor agreed and performed to the popular Thuppakki track “Google Google.” Shah Rukh Khan also joined him and tried matching Vijay’s dance moves. The crowd erupted with cheers while actress Trisha Krishnan (seated in the front row) clapped and smiled.

Interestingly, the event reportedly took place during extreme summer heat in Chennai, with the venue’s air conditioning system failing to function properly.

Meanwhile, an old statement by Shah Rukh Khan about Vijay has also resurfaced online. During a Twitter interaction in 2022, SRK responded to a fan asking about a possible collaboration with Vijay. He had said, “He is a cool guy…films happen when they happen so…if they have to they will”.

Meanwhile, Thalapathy Vijay’s final film Jana Nayagan is facing delays after legal issues with the CBFC reportedly affected its original release plans. Reports now suggest the makers are targeting a June 22, 2026, release around Vijay’s birthday.
