Rajkummar Rao’s Maalik might be packed with action and drama, but it hasn’t had the same impact at the box office. The film had a slow start on Friday and saw some growth over the weekend. However, things changed on Monday as collections dipped sharply.
Maalik recorded just 9.54% overall Hindi occupancy on Monday. Morning shows began poorly at 5.12%, and the response stayed flat through the day. Night shows saw a slight rise, touching 13.49%.
Interestingly, Tier-2 cities showed more love. Jaipur recorded 15.25% occupancy, and Lucknow followed closely with 13.25%. Meanwhile, big cities like Delhi-NCR and Mumbai didn’t perform well, with 9.75% and 12.00% occupancy, respectively.
Maalik Box Office Collection Day 4
As per early estimates by Sacnilk, Maalik collected just Rs 1.65 crore on Day 4. This brings its total to around Rs 15.90 crore in India. That’s far from ideal, especially for a film with a reported budget of Rs 40 crore.

Maalik has done much better than Aankhon Ki Gustakhiyaan starring Vikrant Massey and Shanaya Kapoor, which released on the same day. The musical romance made just Rs 20 lakh on Day 4. But with that film’s total at only Rs 1.35 crore, it doesn’t seem like a competitor to Rajkummar Rao starrer.
Superman Beats Rajkummar Rao Starrer At The Box Office
While Maalik is still struggling to find its footing, James Gunn’s Superman reboot is flying higher. Even with a big Monday drop, the film earned Rs 2.25 crore on Day 4, bringing its India total to Rs 28.25 crore.
The English version leads with Rs 17.92 crore, and the Hindi dubbed version has collected Rs 5.22 crore. Tamil and Telugu versions have added smaller amounts.

Despite the Monday slump, Superman remains one of the top Hollywood films in India this year, following Jurassic World Rebirth, which has crossed Rs 76 crore.
Rajkummar Rao’s earlier films like Mr & Mrs Mahi earned Rs 19 crore in four days, while Bhool Chuk Maaf made over Rs 30 crore. With Mohit Suri’s Saiyaara set to release this Friday, Maalik will have a tough time staying in the race.
